The weekend has come and gone, here we are again on another shitty Monday, so what can we do to "avoid" around an hour, off work?
Applies to those working in a big corporate environment with Microsoft Exchange and a service desk
1) Call Service Desk
2) Tell them that you would like to archive your email to the local computer.
(some companies have online storage available to store emails or it's a rule not to have an archive locally)
3) When the engineer arrives,
i) Tell him to would like to have exactly the same structure as what you have currently
ii) You would like to have the archive split up by year
This will take awhile especially if your email is huge.
* During this time, take your coffee/ toilet/ gossip/ pantry break. If the engineer can't see/find you, after they have completed the task, their task is not considered completed as you have not verified their work.
If you already have a habit of archiving your email regularly,
This will certainly irritate the shit out of the engineer.
p.s btw the above actually helps in managing your email mailbox size :)
Enjoy
Jz
